Although not a fancy restaurant, Captain George Lindsay has great food. I often get the battered shrimp and they are huge! We find the prices are competitive, albeit as a whole, seafood has become expensive no matter where you go. I find that compared to the other seafood places in our area, Captain George has the edge on taste, portions and price, but that's my opinion. I think that the only place close to us that has as food as good as Captain George is perhaps Just For The Halibut in Bobcaygeon.

Delicious fresh fish. We have halibut and chips and coleslaw (lunch size) Freshly cooked within minutes . Not too much batter. Very popular and busy. Great for take out too. Don't go expecting decor or wine - go for the food. Highly recommend.

Have to say was very generous great fish the gravy is good the fries were okay I was very happy with portions of fish and was cooked great thanks for making our bday dinner very good the staff are great . The man cooking the fish was friendly and the resteraunt clean thanks again

Have ordered take out twice now since moving to Lindsay at the end of May. Both times I have ordered Haddock and Chips and it has been consistently amazing. They hand batter the fish for each order, which ensures your food hasn't been sitting and reheated. Their chips/fries are cooked just crispy enough but aren't hard, and their gravy is so yummy. Will definitely continue to get our fish fix from Captain George!

Best fish and chips around, as well as the best Captain George location! Great place to sit down and eat or to order takeout. Staff is always very helpful and friendly. Fish is lightly battered, chips are homemade and cooked perfectly, fresh homemade coleslaw. Great price for the size of portions you get. The only downfall is sometimes it can be very difficult to find a parking spot, but it's worth it. Highly recommended!!

A bright clean dining area if you’re staying, but the main attraction is behind the counter at the fryer. Classic thick cut chips are served up golden to medium brown, hot and fluffy inside. The halibut portions were generous, fried in a crispy, light golden batter. The cook makes sure the fish pieces stand on end to drain before packaging them up on top of the fries. Complimented by a yummy creamy coleslaw. Easily comparable to Olde York F&C in Leaside/Toronto. Well done!

My wife and I stopped in this afternoon for a quick bite to eat before heading back on the road. The restaurant was clean with plenty of places to sit and when it came time to order we were served within a few minutes of sitting down. We both ordered the fish and chips (2 piece meal) which was excellent and served hot and was delicious. This is one of our favorite places to stop in whenever we can get a chance to while visiting family nearby. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to feed their fish and chips cravings. Thank you for the quick service and Merry Christmas to you all!
